Sensory Kit

New Sensory Kit at Oaken Grove

We are very thankful to have received funding from York CVS Ways to Wellbeing which has enabled us to purchase a variety of pieces of equipment which can be used to create and facilitate sensory activities at Oaken Grove Community Centre.

Items include, four large bean bags, liquid floor tiles, light panel and accessories, handheld fidget toys, galaxy projector, diffuser and oils and a knot pillow.

We are inviting feedback from anyone who uses the kit, as well as suggestions for additional items which could be of use for groups, so if you have already used the equipment please let us know your thoughts.  The online feedback form can be found at the bottom of this page.

The kit is free to use for all Oaken Grove hirers and is available to book as required.

Please email info@hwyca.co.uk for more information or to add this to your room booking. Alternatively, hirers who use Hallmaster can book directly by clicking here.

Quiet Corners

“Quiet Corners” is set up in the Children’s Library in Haxby & Wigginton Explore Library based at Oaken Grove Community Centre every Tuesday afternoon, 2:00pm – 4:00pm during term time.

The main lights will be dimmed in the children’s library and there will be a variety of sensory items to explore.

The sensory kit has been provided as part of a project funded by the Ways To Wellbeing Fund by York CVS.

PLEASE NOTE this is not a facilitated session, but everyone is welcome to drop in.
